Our comprehensive range of services includes routine equine healthcare, lameness, sports evaluations, reproductive services, pre-purchase examinations, and dentistry. Utilising cutting-edge mobile imaging technology, we offer radiography, ultrasonography, and endoscopy, including gastroscopy, to ensure thorough and efficient diagnosis and treatment.

Ambulatory stud veterinarian required to work a fixed term contract from mid-April to end of August 2026.
Experienced with routine management of mares for AI required and embryo transfer preferred.
Some routine ambulatory day to day veterinary work. Not able to provide VetGDP.
Focused Equine Ltd is a small, friendly independent ambulatory equine practice based in beautiful Sussex.
Routine weekend stud work shared as a 1 in 3 weekend cover. No OOH emergency duty.
Salary is commensurate with experience. We can also offer accommodation, car, pension scheme, CPD and holiday allowance pro rata, and private health care. .

Equine Reproduction Veterinarian
(Fixed-Term Contract – Breeding Season, UK)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Equine Reproduction Veterinarian to join our team for a fixed-term contract covering the UK breeding season (April to End of August). This is a fully ambulatory position suited to a confident, highly skilled clinician who thrives working independently and delivering exceptional standards of care to mares and foals.
Key Responsibilities
Perform artificial insemination using both chilled and frozen semen, with a strong emphasis on precision, timing, and reproductive efficiency.
Maintain meticulous clinical records and communicate clearly with clients, colleagues, and referring veterinarians.
Manage mares for embryo transfer, including donor and recipient synchronisation and monitoring.
Conduct pregnancy diagnosis and provide advanced reproductive management, including twin reduction when required.
Attend foalings and manage foaling complications, ensuring high-quality neonatal assessment and care.
Deliver comprehensive ambulatory reproductive services, managing your own caseload with autonomy and professionally.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Veterinary degree and eligibility for registration with the RCVS.
Extensive hands-on experience in equine reproduction, particularly AI with chilled and frozen semen.
Proven competence in embryo transfer mare management, pregnancy diagnosis, and reproductive problem-solving.
Strong clinical skills in foaling assistance and neonatal care.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fully ambulatory setting.
Excellent communication skills and a commitment to high-quality documentation.
